Don Lázi, the leader of the band, trumpet artist, and singer, is the godfather of swing music in Hungary. His stage experience is unparalleled in Hungary, with numerous international successes to his name. At the age of 20, he won first place in the “Ki mit tud?” talent show with his youth band, and since then, he has appeared in numerous television and radio programs.
For 20 years, he was the solo trumpeter and singer for the Benkó Dixieland Band. In recent decades, he has shared the stage with world-renowned musicians: he participated in a joint tour with Leroy Jones, the New Orleans trumpeter, performed with American trumpeter Mike Vax, Joe Murányi, the clarinetist of Louis Armstrong, Janice Harrington, Louis Armstrong’s vocalist, Denis Gordon, Deitra Farr blues singer, and had a joint concert with Thoots Thielemans, the world-famous Belgian harmonica player, for King Philip of Belgium.
